Rana Ijaz & Partners, formerly Rana Law Chambers, was founded by the current Managing Partner, Rana Ijaz Ahmed Khan in 1967. Since its formation, the firm has been involved in criminal and civil litigation. The Managing Partner, Rana Ijaz Ahmed is one of the most well-regarded senior litigators in Pakistan having successfully represented high-profile clients. He is the Former Vice-Chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council, the highest elected office for a lawyer in Pakistan and is also the Former Minister of Law & Human Rights, Punjab.

Traditionally, the firm’s strength has been criminal and civil litigation. However, in the last few years, the firm has also advised and represented clients in banking, corporate and intellectual property matters. The transformation coincides with the relocation of the firm to one of the largest office spaces in Lahore for any law firm. The firm’s modern office building overlooks the Lahore High Court making it a convenient location for both clients and the firm’s litigators.

The addition of two partners, Rana Sajjad Ahmad and Rana Muhammad Ahmad, has provided breadth and depth to the range and quality of the firm’s legal services. Both partners have a strong background in corporate and transactional work. Mr. Sajjad Ahmad practiced law in New York before joining the firm in the year 2008. His valuable work experience in the U.S. was considered critical for developing the firm’s corporate practice in Pakistan. Mr. Muhammad Ahmad, a graduate of the BPP Law School, U.K., had the unique opportunity of working as a financial consultant with the Standard Chartered Bank and NIB, two leading international banks operating in Pakistan. His valuable experience in the banking industry has placed him in a strong position for developing and expanding the firm’s practice in the areas of banking law and financial transactions.

Since its formation, the firm in addition to local clients has represented individuals based in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany and Australia. Currently, the firm is also working with international corporations and banks in a broad range of industries including banking and technology. The firm has distinguished itself by working with the law firm of DLA Piper, the world’s second largest law firm, on a high profile white-collar crime matter involving individuals and assets based in the U.K. and Pakistan.

The firm also offers company secretarial and compliance services to foreign/international companies registered in Pakistan.
